Dear Parents and Prospective Students,

Maryland School for the Deaf (MSD) offers a complete academic program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students from Preschool through High School. Students enroll in the school as young as three (3) years of age and may remain at MSD until they are twenty one (21).

The application process begins with you filling out several forms including the MSD Application Form, the Case History Form and the Release for Exchange of Educational and Medical Information Form. Once we receive this, we can schedule an admissions screening which may include audiological and psycho-educational testing for your child. From there, the Admissions Review Team will go over all of the documents we have on your child and make a recommendation regarding the best educational placement for your child.

If your child is admitted to MSD, your son or daughter will be attending a school that is committed to the academic development of all of our students. In a diverse, bilingual environment, we help each student achieve personal excellence and become responsible lifelong learners. We accomplish this through the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process, where teachers and support staff strive to develop and implement an educational program designed to promote and develop your son or daughter's educational needs.
