Middle States and CEASD Accreditation

Please let us take this opportunity to offer our thanks to the Accreditation Planning Team, comprised of representative stakeholders of our school, and internal coordinators, under the direction of Lead Internal Coordinator, Marcia Virts for successfully leading Maryland School for the Deaf to dual accreditation by Middle States and CEASD (Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools and Programs for the Deaf) in 2011.

MSD’s Mission Statement and Beliefs were established to ensure that they reflect who MSD truly is. Action Plans have been developed in order to achieve our targeted objectives. In addition, a Profile of Graduates was developed to define who we want MSD students to be when they graduate from our school. It is now our task as a school system to ensure the objectives are met by 2018 while at the same time implementing new curricula across all subjects and grade levels.  The task ahead is large but it will help maintain MSD’s tradition of excellence.

A new group, the Stakeholder Validation Team, is being established to ensure ongoing monitoring and accountability of the quality work that is done at MSD.  As we continue with the accreditation process, all documents will be available for review by our MSD stakeholders on the website.
