Middle States and CEASD Accreditation
Please let us take this opportunity to welcome you to the Accreditation for Growth (AFG) website for Maryland School for the Deaf and to our self-study year 2010-11.
At the end of the 2009-2010 school year, MSD formulated a Middle States and CEASD (Conference of Educational Administrators of Schools and Programs for the Deaf) Accreditation Planning Team (APT) comprised of representative stakeholders of our school. These include the Board of Trustees, alumni, faculty and staff, parents, students, and administrators. This team meets regularly and is revisiting MSD’s Mission Statement and Beliefs to ensure that they reflect who MSD truly is. The Accreditation Planning Team along with the Internal Coordinators are instrumental in reviewing survey results from a variety of stakeholding groups in order to set the goals and objectives that will frame our work for the next seven years. Action Plans will be developed in order to achieve our targeted objectives. Action Plan Implementation Teams will be formed during the 2010-11 school year. In addition, a Profile of Graduates will be developed to define who we want MSD students to be when they graduate from our school.
As we continue with the accreditation process, all documents will be available for review by our MSD stakeholders.
On behalf of MSD, we want to extend our sincere thanks to everyone in our community for helping us continue our MSD tradition of excellence. We look forward to the CEASD and Middle States Validation Teams visiting our campuses in Fall 2011.
