Greetings Families, Friends, and Professionals of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children!
Maryland School for the Deaf (MSD) is the proud host of the 22nd American
Society for Deaf Children (ASDC) Biennial Conference! This event will be held
on June 22 – June 26, 2011. ASDC is a national, independent, non-profit
organization that has been helping families raise children who are deaf or hard of
hearing since 1967. The five days of entertaining and informative programs at
this national conference allow participants to rub elbows, eat at the same dinner
table, share in fun activities, and exchange valuable information and maybe even
a few mischievous stories!
Full and equal access to resources, services, and opportunities arms parents with
knowledge to make informed decisions about their child’s future. The 2011
ASDC Conference at MSD will provide support to families with deaf and hard
of hearing children through a wealth of workshops, information sharing,
understanding, and shared experiences. In the state of Maryland, parents of deaf
and hard of hearing children are able to choose where they want their child to
receive their education. MSD truly believes that the choices parents make are
the keys to future success in every aspect of their child’s life, including areas
such as; family, communication, education, extracurricular opportunities, and
community. Making well-informed decisions in each of these life milestones
will allow deaf and hard of hearing children to learn and thrive in a fully
accessible environment. MSD looks forward to exploring each of these areas
with you and your family on June 22 – 26, 2011 at the ASDC Biennial
Conference – “Parent Choices: Keys to Your Child’s Future.”
Plans are underway for this exciting conference! Please visit http://www.msd.edu and
