The Maryland School for the Deaf Board of Trustees seeks services from a professional and knowledgeable firm to provide guidance and support in conducting a comprehensive, national search for the purpose of identifying and recruiting highly qualified candidates for the position of Superintendent.

The due date for proposals is Thursday, October 22, 2020, with a selection targeted for the week of November 2-6, 2020. An announcement will be made regarding the selection of the executive search consultant shortly thereafter.

Equity and Inclusion Consultant to the MSD Board of Trustees
Dear MSD Community,
On behalf of the Maryland School for the Deaf (MSD) Board of Trustees, we want to have open, transparent communication with you, MSD Community. Last month, MSD Board of Trustees established the ad-hoc committee and we have been working on initiatives to address systemic racism at MSD.
The Board of Trustees of the Maryland School for the Deaf is looking for a professional individual or firm/consultant to conduct an independent, neutral and impartial equity and inclusion assessment/audit that will result in a plan to effect systemic changes throughout the organization/institution by addressing racism, implicit biases, and microaggressions.
A professional individual or firm/consultant will report and be fully accountable solely to the MSD Board of Trustees. An ad-hoc committee of the Board of Trustees will work directly with the consultant, serving as the primary point of contact regarding the project.
Additionally, the consultant will provide guidance and training to the school's leadership, management, and other key constituencies/stakeholders in support of the implementation of the plan.
MSD will share its anti-racism work progress through periodic reports on our website and Social Media platforms. Much work is ahead of us, but we will work hard and bring MSD to the next level as an equitable and inclusive school.
