Dr. Tania Thomas-Presswood
Tania Thomas-Presswood, Ph.D., is a professor and the director of the school psychology program at Gallaudet University and has been on the faculty of the Psychology Department since 1999. Dr. Thomas-Presswood was trained at Hofstra University where she obtained her doctoral degree in Clinical and School Psychology.
 
She is the past-president of the Association of Practicing Psychologists in Prince George's and Montgomery Counties. Dr. Thomas-Presswood was also involved with the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and served on their Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion taskforce. She has been practicing as a school psychologist for over twenty years in various states such as New York, Texas, Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
 
Dr. Thomas-Presswood has also presented at major conferences such as NASP and APA, and she has authored and co-authored chapters, journal articles, and books on poverty, assessment, and working with culturally and linguistically diverse children. Her most recent co-authored book, Psychological and Psychoeducational Assessment of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children and Adolescents, was published in 2015.
