Stakeholder Input

The membership profile of the Pandemic Response Team is composed of the Columbia campus Chief Educational Programs Officer of Columbia campus; the Frederick campus Chief Educational Programs Officer; the Director of Curriculum and Instruction; the Director of Student Support Services; the Director of After School Programs & Student Development who also serves as a co-coordinator of the Pandemic Response Team; the Director of Public Relations; a Registered Nurse Supervisor; the Coordinator of Outreach and Admissions who also serves as a co-coordinator of the Pandemic Response Team; the Director of Student Life from the Frederick campus representing the student life and athletic departments; and two administrative assistants from the main office at the Columbia and Frederick campuses.

Stakeholder input has been carefully considered in all planning decisions. The Pandemic Response Team organized several avenues for parents and families, teachers, students, educators, and community members to provide feedback on the Reopening Guide. These primary channels include, but are not limited to, open town hall meetings for families with students in all age groups, regular meetings with department principals and department heads, participation in departmental staff meetings, continual access to an online feedback form with responses monitored regularly, weekly O’News email blasts with updated information and link to the online feedback form, and an online survey open to parents/guardians, faculty and staff, and students.

Stakeholder feedback from January 2023 to August 2023 was reviewed to determine if revisions to the plan are necessary. Feedback was received regarding mitigation strategies, facility usage and maintenance, protocol communications, and data.

The Pandemic Response Team utilized discussion from this feedback to inform changes to the Reopening Plan including but not limited to emphasis on monitoring for symptoms of infectious diseases, continued mitigation strategies of use of water refill stations in place of water fountains, and monitoring and replacement of air purifier filters. Additionally, Reopening Guide question and answer sessions for staff will be scheduled with members of the Pandemic Response Team.

To ensure that the entire school community is represented in ongoing feedback and input, Pandemic Response Team members will continue to maintain these meetings and surveys on an as needed basis. Based on the stakeholder input and state requirements, adjustments will be made to the Reopening Guide every six months until September 30, 2024.
