Speech-Language Services

MSD offers spoken language services through certified and licensed Speech-Language Pathologists. These professionals provide comprehensive language assessments, direct student services, and consultations to support Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives. Services are tailored to each student's needs and are delivered in small groups or one-on-one sessions, utilizing either a pull-out model or an inclusion setting as appropriate.
 
MSD's Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists collaborate closely with ASL Specialists and Bilingual Educators to enhance student outcomes in both American Sign Language and written/spoken English. The services provided may include:
  • Articulation (speech sound production) and Pronunciation Training
  • Auditory Learning
  • Communication Strategies
  • Functional Communication 
  • Voice and Fluency
  • Language: Vocabulary, Grammar, and Pragmatics
  • Speech-reading
  • Phonemic Awareness
  • Fostering a link between spoken English and Literacy
