Strategic Planning
The Maryland School for the Deaf is excited to announce the launch of our year-long initiative to develop our new five-year Strategic Plan for 2025-2030. This comprehensive plan will guide our educational decision-making and shape the future of our entire school community, ensuring we continue to meet the evolving needs of our students, staff, and families as we move forward together.
This website will serve as our central hub for key updates, progress reports, and insights into how we are building a stronger, more vibrant MSD. Our vision, goals, and initiatives will come together to form an ambitious roadmap designed to foster innovation and growth, ensuring the best possible educational experience for our students.
As we embark on this important work, we invite the community to reflect on the progress we have made, explore emerging trends, and consider how we can continue to adapt to the changing landscape of deaf education. This dynamic, collaborative process will engage stakeholders at every level, ensuring our continued success and growth.
Strategic planning offers us a unique opportunity to assess our current efforts, envision a brighter future, and challenge ourselves to prioritize the values and needs that will shape our path forward. Through this process, we aim to be innovative, bold, and forward-thinking in all that we do.
Throughout the 2024-2025 academic year, our Strategic Plan Steering Committee—composed of teachers, staff, administrators, trustees, parents, and community members—will lead a comprehensive process of data gathering, needs assessment, and community engagement. We will actively seek input from the entire MSD community through surveys and focus groups to ensure diverse perspectives are reflected in our plan.
This strategic plan, developed with careful planning and collaboration with our stakeholders, will lay the groundwork for MSD's ongoing commitment to educational excellence as we work to advance our mission in deaf education.
