Community Work Groups

MSD Community Work Groups
The MSD Community Work Groups were established after an open meeting between the Orioles Leadership Team and members of MSD's Black Staff Community on June 22, 2020. A community-wide survey was shared on June 24, 2020 in an effort to ensure a diverse representation of stakeholders in the Work Groups. This survey was sent to families, faculty and staff and a total of 35 participants (31 staff members and 4 parent volunteers) were selected. Groups began meeting on July 13, 2020 to address a two-part charge: (1) identify racism at MSD through stories, experiences, data, and policies, and (2) propose recommendations on how to change and improve the system. The Work Groups look forward to continuing their work this Fall and collaborating with MSD's newly appointed Chief Diversity Officer.
